Doodle Flappy: Draw Your Bird

Your drawing is the hitbox. Small birds are easy, big birds score big.

Draw your bird

First draw a bird (or anything you like) in the box. Your drawing becomes the hitbox. Then tap to flap through the pipes. Small birds slip through easily; big birds score up to 4× points.

How to play Doodle Flappy

Doodle Flappy is a one-tap flying game with a twist: you draw the bird. Whatever you sketch in the drawing box (a sparrow, a fish, a paper plane, a potato with wings) becomes the character that flies through the pipes, and its outline becomes its hitbox. That means your art is part of your strategy. A compact little bird slips through narrow gaps easily; a big, ambitious bird is harder to steer but earns up to four times as many points per pipe.

  1. Press Start drawing and draw your bird inside the dashed box. Use as many lines as you like.
  2. Check the label under the box: it tells you your bird's size class and its score multiplier.
  3. Press Fly! Then tap, click or press Space to flap.
  4. Fly through the gaps between the pipes. Each pipe you pass scores points equal to your multiplier.
  5. Touching a pipe or the ground ends the run. Fly the same bird again or draw a new one.

Tips for a longer flight

  • Draw round, not long. The hitbox is the outline around everything you draw, so a long beak or tail adds width for nothing. A round body with small wings is the most efficient shape.
  • Find your rhythm. Every flap is identical. Steady, evenly spaced taps keep the bird level; frantic tapping sends it into the top pipe.
  • Aim for the middle of the next gap, not the current one. By the time you are inside a gap, your next flap should already be setting up the following one.
  • Start medium. A ×2 medium bird is the sweet spot for most players: forgiving enough to learn on, but twice the points of a tiny bird.
  • Mind the tilt. Your bird tips its nose down as it falls, which rotates the hitbox. Flat, wide birds swing more than round ones.

Why draw your own character?

Flappy-style games are famous for one-more-try tension: the controls fit in one tap, but staying alive is hard. Doodle Flappy adds a creative risk-and-reward choice before every run. Do you play it safe with a tiny bird, or draw a magnificent eagle and chase the big multiplier? It's also simply funny: drawing a cat, a ghost or your friend's face and watching it flap away is half the fun, and it makes every run feel like yours.

The difficulty ramps up gently. The first pipes are slow with wide gaps so you can get a feel for the flap. After that, the scrolling speed increases, the gaps narrow and the openings move further between pipes, so a run of thirty pipes is a real achievement.

Bird ideas to try

  • The pebble: a tiny filled circle with a dot for an eye. Only ×1 points, but almost impossible to crash, which makes it perfect for learning the timing.
  • The classic: an oval body, a triangle beak and a little wing on top. Usually lands in the ×2 medium class.
  • The show-off: a big round owl that just fits the ×3 square. Every pipe is worth three points, but there is barely any room in the gaps.
  • Anything but a bird: a fish, a rocket, a slice of pizza, your initials. The game doesn't judge, it only measures the outline.

Your score is simply the number of pipes you pass multiplied by your bird's size bonus, so a 12-pipe run with a big ×3 bird (36 points) beats a 30-pipe run with a tiny ×1 bird. Experiment to find the size that gives you the best balance between survival and points.

Doodle Flappy FAQ

Does the shape of my bird really matter?

Yes. The game wraps your drawing in its outline (the smallest convex shape around every line you drew) and uses that as the hitbox, shown as a soft yellow fill behind your bird. A long tail or wide wings make the bird bigger and easier to clip a pipe with.

How do the score multipliers work?

Your bird’s size decides how many points each pipe is worth: tiny birds score 1 per pipe, medium birds 2, big birds 3 and huge birds 4. The pale squares inside the drawing box show where each size class starts.

How do I flap?

Tap anywhere on the game on a phone or tablet, click with the mouse on a computer, or press Space or the up arrow. Each flap gives the bird the same upward push, so rhythm matters more than speed.

Is my bird saved?

Yes. Your last bird and your best score are saved in this browser on your device. Press Play again to fly the same bird, or New bird to draw a different one.

Does it get harder?

Gradually. The pipes scroll faster, the gaps get narrower and the openings jump further up and down the longer you survive.

Is Doodle Flappy free?

Completely free, in your browser, with no download or sign-up. It works on phones, tablets and computers, and pauses automatically when you switch tabs.
