Track Designer Racing – Draw a Race Track

Draw any loop and it becomes a kart circuit. Hold to drive, let go to brake.

Level 1

How to play Track Designer Racing

Track Designer Racing is a draw race track game in two halves. First you are the circuit designer: one line drawn with your mouse or finger becomes a full kart track with kerbs, a chequered start line and trees. Then you are the driver, lining up against three bot karts for a three-lap race on the circuit you just invented.

  1. Draw one closed loop on the grass. Finish near your starting point so the track joins up.
  2. If any part of the track crosses or touches another part, the trouble spots are circled in red. Just draw again.
  3. Press Race! and wait for the countdown.
  4. Hold anywhere on the game (or the Space bar) to accelerate. Let go to brake.
  5. Your kart follows the track by itself. Control your speed so you fly down the straights without spinning in the corners.
  6. Cross the line first after three laps to win, then share your track and challenge a friend.

Racing tips

  • Brake before the corner, not in it. Lift off as you approach a bend, then hold again from the middle of the corner. Braking late in the turn is how most spins happen.
  • Tight corners need much less speed. A gentle curve can be taken almost flat out, but a hairpin may need you to slow to half speed. Watch for the red and white kerbs: they mark the tightest bends.
  • A little drift is fine. When the kart slides and leaves skid marks you are right at the limit, which is the fastest way round. Push much further and you spin and lose about a second.
  • Pulse the throttle. Short taps through a long bend hold the kart at the edge of grip better than holding or releasing completely.
  • Design for speed. On your own tracks, long straights and wide sweeping curves make races fast and close. Lots of tiny wiggles make a slow, technical circuit where good braking matters most.

Design your own circuit, then share it

Every track you draw is turned into 48 control points and smoothed into a flowing curve, so even a shaky line becomes a clean circuit. The game checks that the track is wide enough everywhere and never crosses itself, then works out how fast each corner can be taken. That is also how the three bot drivers, Scribble, Inky and Doodles, know where to brake. The whole circuit fits into a short code in the share link, so a friend who opens it races on exactly the same layout. Try drawing the outline of your initial, a heart, a famous race circuit from memory or the shape of your country, and see who can set the fastest time.

Twelve championship tracks

Not in a drawing mood? The championship has twelve ready-made circuits. Paper Oval is a gentle warm-up where you can almost hold the throttle all the way round. Triangle Tour and Clover Cup bring the first proper braking zones, Star Sprint is a series of sharp points, and Grand Doodle mixes fast sweepers with tight hairpins. The bots get braver on every track, so by the end you need clean laps without a single spin. Win with a time close to the perfect lap for three stars.

Why racing games and drawing go so well together

A car drawing game lets you be the engineer and the driver at once. Drawing a circuit is quick and creative, and driving it immediately shows you how your design feels: whether that fun-looking squiggle is actually a nightmare of hairpins, or whether a big lazy loop is too easy. The one-button controls are simple enough for younger players, while the grip limit gives older players something to master. It teaches a real motorsport idea too: the time you gain is in the corners, not on the straights.

Track Designer Racing FAQ

How do I draw a race track?

Press anywhere on the grass and draw one continuous loop, finishing close to where you started (inside the dashed circle). The game smooths your line into a circuit, adds kerbs, a start line and trees. The track must not cross or touch itself; if it does, the problem spots are circled in red and you can simply draw again.

How do I drive my kart?

Hold the mouse button, your finger or the Space bar to accelerate, and let go to brake. Your kart steers itself along the track, so the whole skill is speed control: go flat out on straights, lift before corners and get back on the power as the corner opens up.

Why does my kart spin out?

Every corner has a maximum speed. Go a little over it and the kart drifts wide and loses speed; go well over it and it spins, stopping for about a second. Tight corners need much lower speeds than gentle curves, so brake earlier for hairpins.

Can I share my track with friends?

Yes. After drawing a valid track press Share track. The whole circuit is stored inside the link, so anyone who opens it gets exactly the same track and can try to beat the three karts on it. No account or upload is needed.

What are the 12 championship tracks?

Open the level list (the grid button) to race 12 ready-made circuits, from a simple oval to twisty tracks full of hairpins. The bots get a little faster on each one. Win to unlock the next track; a fast winning time earns up to three stars, and progress is saved in your browser.

Does this car drawing game work on phones?

Yes. Draw the track with your finger and hold anywhere on the screen to drive. On a tall phone screen the circuit is turned sideways so it fills the screen. It is free, runs in the browser and needs no download.
