How to play Lemming Lines
Lemming Lines is a draw-the-path puzzle game. Twenty small, cheerful and completely clueless walkers pop out of a hatch one by one and march straight ahead. They never stop and never think: they walk until they hit a wall, then turn around, and they happily walk off cliffs, into water and onto spikes. Your job is to draw them a safe way to the exit door using a limited supply of ink.
- Look at the level. The blue arrow under the hatch shows which way the walkers will go.
- Draw lines with your mouse or finger: bridges over gaps, ramps up to ledges, slides down from heights and short walls that turn walkers around.
- Watch the ink bar. Every line uses ink, and when it's empty you can't draw any more.
- Press Go! The walkers march out every ¾ of a second. You can still draw during the run.
- Save at least the number shown on the house counter to clear the level. Use ⏩ to speed things up.
What your walkers can and can't do
- They climb gentle slopes and small steps, but a slope steeper than about 60 degrees works like a wall and turns them around.
- They fall straight on when the ground ends, keeping their walking speed. A short drop is fine; a long one is fatal.
- Spikes and water are instant trouble, so arch your bridges high enough that they clear the spikes.
- Red striped zones are no-draw areas. Your pen simply stops working inside them, so plan a route around.
- They walk through each other, so a traffic jam never blocks your path.
Tips and strategy
- Start lines on the ground. A ramp that begins a little above the floor acts like a step that's too high, and the walkers will turn back. Begin right at floor level for a smooth climb.
- Slides beat drops. When the exit is far below, draw one long gentle slope. The walkers hop down it safely, step by step.
- One line can do two jobs. A single long arch can cross two pits and a spike strip in one go and costs less ink than separate bridges.
- Turn them early. If the hatch points the wrong way, a tiny vertical line is the cheapest fix in the game.
- Save ink for the third star. Once a level is cleared, try again with straighter, shorter lines. Using 60% of the ink or less earns the bonus star.
Levels overview
The 16 levels introduce one idea at a time. The first few teach bridges, ramps and slides. Then the walkers start walking the wrong way, spikes appear and no-draw zones force you to think about routes rather than just shapes. Later levels combine everything: zigzag descents across floating platforms, staircases up to a high exit, low ceilings that limit how high a bridge can go, and a final grand tour over water. Every level has been checked with a known solution, so every puzzle can be solved, often in more than one way.
Puzzles like this train planning and spatial reasoning: you have to picture where twenty walkers will go before you press Go, and then fix your plan live when something goes wrong.
Playing on a phone
The whole level always fits on the screen, so you never need to scroll. On a phone, turning it sideways gives you a much bigger board and more precise lines. Draw slowly near the edges of platforms: your line starts exactly where your finger touches the screen.

Lemming Lines FAQ
How do you play Lemming Lines?
Draw lines with your mouse or finger, then press Go. Twenty walkers march out of the hatch one after another. They walk along the ground and your lines, turn around at walls and fall off edges. Get at least the required number into the green exit door to clear the level.
Can I draw while the walkers are moving?
Yes. You can keep drawing during a run as long as you have ink left, which is handy for emergency walls and bridges. Undo only works before you press Go.
Why do my walkers die?
Walkers are lost if they touch spikes or water, fall off the bottom of the screen, or drop from too high (more than about four and a half body lengths). Long ramps and slides are the safe way down.
How do I get three stars?
You always get one star for clearing a level. You earn a second star if all twenty walkers reach the exit, and a third if you use no more than 60% of the ink.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Draw with your finger and tap the buttons. The game fits the screen of phones, tablets and computers. Your unlocked levels and stars are saved in your browser.
Is Lemming Lines free?
Yes, it is free with no download or sign-up. It is an original puzzle game inspired by classic walker-rescue games and is not affiliated with any of them.
